Using finishes boards and moodboards in the design process
Creating a successful design involves a careful balance between creativity and communication. One of the most important aspects of this is ensuring that the designer and the client share the same vision for the final result. This is where mood and finish boards come in.
A mood board is a collection of images, textures, and colours that convey a design's overall feel and aesthetic. It establish the project'she tone and moot visually and is an essential part to ensure that everyone involved in the design process is on the same page.
On the other hand, a finishes board showcases the different materials, textures, and finishes that will be used in the final product. This can include everything from fabric swatches to paint samples to hardware options. Presenting all of these options in one place makes it easier for the client to visualise what the final product will look like and provide their input.
Commercial Interior Drafting and Documentation
The design and construction project documentation process is slightly different from the traditional architectural documentation process. Usually, timeframes are tight, and documents are needed as soon as possible. We work closely with commercial fitout companies and project managers to find out what exactly is required for each project.
Sofia Design can produce complete construction sets or just a few detailed pages, including FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment) schedules and full design documentation for concept, tender and construction stages.
